Key Performance Areas
1. Customer Service
Customer satisfaction is at the heart of our operations. As a General Worker, you will be expected to:
- Advise and assist customers in selecting the correct products.
- Respond to customer queries in a professional and helpful manner.
- Assist in resolving customer complaints quickly and efficiently.
- Ensure customers feel welcomed and supported at all times.
The ability to communicate clearly and remain calm under pressure is essential. You must demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude when interacting with customers and colleagues.
2. Merchandising Standards
Maintaining high merchandising standards is a core responsibility of this role. Duties include:
- Ensuring the bulk stock area is merchandised safely and according to the store layout plan.
- Making sure your assigned area is fully stocked and neatly arranged according to approved planograms.
- Replenishing shelves immediately after stock is received.
- Monitoring stock presentation to ensure products are accessible and displayed correctly.
Attention to detail is critical. You will be expected to follow layout guidelines precisely and maintain visual consistency throughout your area of responsibility.
3. Housekeeping & Safety
Safety and cleanliness are especially important within a hospital-related environment. As part of your daily duties, you must:
- Ensure your area is free of obstacles at all times.
- Arrange stock in a way that allows customers to move safely through aisles.
- Prevent any risk of injury or inconvenience to customers and staff.
- Ensure correct shelf price labeling within your assigned area.
- Complete all required checklists when on duty.
- Follow and maintain the Canteen and Toilet/Showers cleaning schedule as required.
Maintaining high housekeeping standards contributes to a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for everyone.
Minimum Requirements
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and store layout plans
- Physically fit and able to handle stock
- Willingness to work shifts if required
Previous experience in retail, merchandising, or hospital supply environments will be advantageous but is not mandatory.
